The role, and what the job is
Design, develop, deploy and support all specification for complex scalable enterprise software programs and systems
Review pre-existing complex code and provide recommendations to improve performance & maintainability
Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers
Add/Modify code and perform enhancements that integrate with old code
Add/Modify new functionality to existing code
Assess and fix problematic code

What a qualified candidate should possess:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or relevant experience
Software development experience utilizing LAMP stack (Perl strongly preferred)
2+ years of experience working with web application
In-depth knowledge of object-oriented methodologies, UML design techniques, event driven architectures, and other design patterns
Experience with an open source development environment using tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git, GIT CI
Ability to troubleshoot, performance tune and understand memory & CPU utilization in code produced
Desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly
Experience in evaluating new & upcoming technologies and able to provide recommendations
Experience in analyzing and tuning existing systems to maximize efficiency
Experience in coaching junior team members on design pattern & coding styles.
Experience in debugging and troubleshooting real time web application.
Nice-to-haves, but not required:
Experience working in a dev-ops environment
Experience with recently popular JS frameworks (Ember, Angular, React)
Java development experience
Spring Boot / Spring Framework experience
Experience in other scripting languages i.e. PHP, Bash, Ruby, Python
Experience with open-source libraries/frameworks, e.g. Hystrix, Ribbon, Vert.x, Eureka, etc.
Experience in Agile Development Experience
Experience in automated testing and behavior testing frameworks such as Cucumber, Nightwatch
Public Cloud experience preferably in AWS or Kubernetes
You maintain or contribute to open-source software projects
