Job Description:

The departments Business Affairs and Legal Affairs Local Production manage key aspects of the whole life-cycle of local film and tv projects from the acquisition through the various stages of its exploitation. In addition, the departments support special projects for the distribution of our US film portfolio. The offered position is working for both departments. In brief the job encompasses support for above activities as well as further assistance in order to ensure a smooth run of all tasks and projects within the Business & Legal Affairs departments as well as the interactions with the creative and finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that relevant departments are informed of contractual terms, administering the respective tracking system for option terms and similar
• Ensuring flow of information to all relevant local and international partners by regularly updating the respective data bases
• Being contact person for business and legal partners such as law firms or production companies
• Setting up several regular and ad hoc needed reports and researches
• Drafting correspondence as well as correspond self-dependent in German and English with local and international business partners
• Administering Rights administration system with supervision of Director or Manager of Legal Affairs
• Pre-review of outgoing credit memos to producers
• Administering contracts and legal compliance due diligence checks of business partners under supervision of Director or Manager of Legal Affairs
• “Unsolicited submissions”: Registration of incoming scripts, books and project ideas, filing of example pages and preparations of refusals
• Preparing data for analysis using MS Excel
• All further secretarial and assistance tasks and duties in connection with the daily business of the Director Legal Affairs as well as Director Strategic Planning & Business Development and any other member of the team as required (filing, taking phone calls, scheduling meetings, travel organisation and administration of expenses)

Required Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience within finance and/or legal background is an advantage
• Ability to work in a complex environment
• Basic analytical skills
• Very good communication skills in English and German, written and spoken
• Good working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
• High ability to plan, organise and set priorities
• Ability to work under pressure; high flexibility
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Reliability
• Ability to keep confidential information
