Job Description:

If you are a born ideator, a lover of all things visual, a creative storyteller at heart and someone who can connect strong creative to overall brand management, keep reading. KPNX -12News the NBC Affiliate in Phoenix, AZ. has an immediate opening for an inspiring Creative Manager who will oversee all aspects of marketing creative for the brand, including but not limited to: on-air spots, off-channel multi-platform creative, print collateral, social media assets, set redesigns and more. You will be the creative eyes and ears of the station ensuring cohesion, consistency and modern audience appeal at all times. You will be a coach, teacher, instructor, storyteller and critic simultaneously.

Key components of this leadership job include:

• Guiding the overall look/tone/feel/attitude of the station and serving as the station brand’s chief storyteller. While the news teams tell the stories of the community, you will tell the story of the station.
• Developing, regularly reviewing, training staff on and ensuring strict adherence to station brand guidelines.
• Leading the creative process for all station campaigns including but not limited to writing creative briefs, overseeing concepting/production, developing promotions and measuring success
• Directing all creative that promotes the station and ensuring it meets thresholds for quality, clarity, relevance and other brand health dimensions.
• Partnering with all stakeholders at the station including news, digital, social, marketing and sales personnel. This includes develop strong and healthy partnerships with on-air talent in order to drive peak marketing performance
• Conducting creative audits and critiques on minimum of a quarterly basis to consistently aim for greater quality and impact
• Managing all creative production technology – ensuring the station has best in class tools in this regard and that they are in active use
• Recruiting, hiring, training and managing team of multimedia marketing producers and if needed, freelancers, with strong writing, shooting and editing capabilities
• Ensuring all creative production is executed on-time, on-team, on-strategy and on-budget.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7-10 years hands-on creative experience with promotion-specific and demonstrated record of success in the television/news industry, brand management, or marketing/digital/advertising agency.
• Firsthand, working knowledge of on-air and digital promotion production techniques, and familiarity with current production and photography trends.
• An intimate understanding of and honed skill set around design, copy, production and other areas of creative.
• Experience translating broadcast designs and concepts to interactive digital and social media campaigns.
• Expert knowledge of creative marketing concepts, development and production with proven ability to manage creative projects from conception through implementation.
• Experience in managing brand promotions with exceptional understanding of brand voice.
• Excellent management, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with a track record of successfully managing and motivating creative teams.
• Adept at presentation and concept pitches.
• Superior writing skills.
• Ability to drive progress, strategically and creatively think in a fast-paced environment.
