JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this is a senior software engineering role with some management responsibilities. You'll work closely with the product management and engineering teams to deliver game-changing consumer products with millions of dedicated fans. You'll be encouraged to be innovative, to see the big picture, and positively impact millions of customers. You'll manage a small team of mobile engineers and help define and implement reliable, scalable, efficient and secure software on iOS and Android platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and contribute to the development of mobile apps that enrich FOX’s customer experience through features like content delivery, live streaming, video on demand, interactive services, content recommendation, and dynamic ad insertion. Work with relevant stakeholders to scope, design, test, and deploy new product features. Be a key individual contributor and also lead engineers to design and build features that are easy to maintain and scale. Write and review code. Ensure timeliness and quality of team deliverables. Work closely with QA to maintain stable releases with great test coverage. Debug app defects and in-field crash reports. Evaluate current codebase to suggest and implement architecture improvements. Drive agile development best practices. Help hire and onboard new team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 6+ years of overall hands-on software engineering work preferred, with computer programming a primary daily responsibility. Expert knowledge of native mobile technologies. 4+ years of experience developing beautiful, well-reviewed mobile applications preferred. Experience with iOS, Android, and cross-platform mobile development frameworks. Experience working within mixed engineering organizations including local, remote, and vendor resources is a plus. Experience using agile methodologies for software development preferred. Familiarity with client/server, database/web interfaces, and ad technology stacks for native mobile apps. Experience with WordPress back-ends a strong plus. Experience with SmartTV and OTT platforms a plus. Excellent problem solving, communication and collaboration skills. Strong work ethic required, sense of humor a strong plus
