iHeartMedia Tech has begun a massive shift in the way we build software away from monolith apps and on-prem, dedicated infrastructure and towards the more flexible world of microservices built on the public cloud with agile development and CI/CD. In support of that, we are looking for a forward-thinking, big-picture, cloud architect to reimagine the status-quo and create innovative and modern solutions for our business challenges. The Senior Enterprise Architect is experienced in designing and building cloud-native applications, works with business and IT leaders to understand the business, its value streams, and technology landscape, creates plans to address gaps and inefficiencies, designs enterprise solutions, and works with delivery teams to ensure proper implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Understand business and technical requirements and design enterprise-scale solutions, subsystems, and interfaces that meet these requirements and conform to functional and technical roadmaps
• Document and visualize current-state and future-state architectures and keep them current with each delivery increment; effectively communicate concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Specify non-functional requirements (NFRs) and target service levels to cover areas such as performance, scalability, availability, recoverability, security, monitoring, etc. and ensure solutions meet those targets
• Act as a technical consultant to development teams and partner with business and IT teams to define long-term architectural vision, business and technical architecture roadmaps, and enterprise guidelines and standards
• Assist the business in technology requests and vendor evaluations; perform buy vs. build analysis and promote the use of shared platforms and services
• Keep abreast of technology innovation, industry standards, architectural trends, and major technical vendors and provide thought leadership in the area of software architecture

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS preferred)
• Proven ability to architect enterprise-scale, cloud applications
• Strong leadership skills to include communication and presentation, ability to influence others, strategic thinking, and accountability
• Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and modeling (including TOGAF and ArchiMate)
• Solid knowledge in all major areas of technical architecture and platforms:
• Application: Microservices, RESTful APIs, queuing and messaging, logging and monitoring, programming languages, development tools, technology stacks (open source, Java, etc.), UI frameworks (web/desktop/mobile), API management, integration technologies, testing, performance tuning and profiling, automation, CI/CD, Agile/scrum, and DevOps
• Data: SQL, NoSQL, ETL, master data management, analytics, and BI
• Security: Identity, directory, authentication/authorization, single-sign-on, access management, API hardening, encryption, data privacy, backup, and disaster recovery
• Infrastructure: Compute, storage, network, load-balancing, scalability, and availability
• Experience in vendor platform evaluations including criteria and scorecard development
• High attention to detail and strong analytical, organizational, and task management skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent required
• Minimum 12 years of experience designing and building enterprise software applications, with at least 2 years in cloud native solutions and 3 years in enterprise architecture
• Previous experience as a consultant is desirable
• Experience in media is a plus
