Job Description:

This position is funded for 2 years and will be extended contingent on additional funding.
The Multimedia Content Producer will serve as a content production professional within Gopher Digital Productions, the multimedia arm of Minnesota Athletics.

The position will report to the Director of Digital Production and Digital Content Manager within Gopher Athletics and primarily work to build video and motion graphics features for Gopher Athletics web properties and in-game entertainment purposes.

Position Responsibilities:

The position will be a member of Gopher Digital Productionsí creative production staff, producing multimedia content for use across multiple platforms, including, but not limited to web, mobile, social media, in-venue entertainment and television.

Other duties include but not limited to:

  • Motion graphics content creation from conception through completion using Adobe After Effects or similar software
  • Production of multimedia content (motion graphics and video products) for in-stadium, television, digital and mobile platforms using non-linear editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Collect footage using cinema and DSLR video cameras at Gopher sporting events, practices or at staged shoots (e.g. interviews or similar setting)
  • Video storytelling and crafting a compelling narrative through multimedia
  • Employ basic video lighting techniques
  • Participate in new content development including idea creation, research and concepts to help reach organizational goals
  • Provide basic oversight, supervision and training of student production employees
  • Assist in advancing the department's mission, vision, and strategic plan including its commitment to equity and diversity

    Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Art or related field plus 2 years professional experience, or 6 years combined equivalent education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics software, including building creative designs from scratch while following organizational brand standards and best practices.
  • Available at least 40 hours per week to work on projects, including some night/weekend hours.
  • Willingness to work fluctuating hours including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to travel (likely less than 5% of work hours)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working in a collegiate or professional sports environment in a similar capacity
