Job Description:

The Executive Director Promotions and FMCG, EMEA, will partner with the Vice President EMEA and Global Teams in Burbank to develop business strategies benefiting long term revenue growth and marketing exposure for Warner Bros. properties.

He/she will identify key EMEA based companies in these industries as potential licensees for Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) properties, and will manage designated master licensees as assigned by the Vice President and Senior Vice Presidents of Global Teams.

The Executive Director will have responsibility for managing pan-regional and local territory sales efforts across the region to include pitching and negotiating deals as applicable and providing support to the local category account executives to enable them to achieve revenue goals. In close collaboration with Burbank, this position is directly responsible for managing all EMEA-based licensed advertising initiatives to include agency pitches, negotiations and category support for the local account executives.

Essential job functions

• Identify potential licensees and develop sales strategies to secure new partners on a pan-regional and local territory basis
• Interface with key clients (both regionally and locally) as required to include pitching and negotiating licensing deals
• Provide sales support to a team of EMEA affiliate and agent executives to help achieve revenue goals
• Drive implementation of key category strategies and initiatives across the region
• Act as the primary EMEA contact for all licensed advertising initiatives and work closely with the Burbank office to aggressively grow this category. Responsibilities include strategizing, pitching, negotiating contract deal points and servicing EMEA-based licensed advertising deals
• Manage all aspects of regional and global accounts, including product development, line plans, sales plans, marketing and research in order to maximize revenue and achieve financial targets
• In coordination with global category head and the Vice President, increase exposure of Warner Bros. brands to kids through unique marketing partnership with industry leading companies
• Identify new trends and product innovation that will drive business opportunities and market share gain
• Evaluate the competitive landscape for category, brand and age segmentation while identifying gaps and opportunities to gain market share in all lines of businesses
• Manage one member of staff (Senior Category Manager) and participate in all major decisions with lead categories for the purpose of growing the business
• Liaise with licensees and internal departments to support licensee sales efforts, including marketing, brand assurance, retail business development, and public relations
• Participate in budget process for assigned categories
• Attend tradeshows and visit licensees as needed to update property activities and provide strategic direction

Person specification

• Previous experience in advertising, promotion, sales or related field preferred
• Bachelors’ degree or equivalent required
• Must have strong sales and negotiation background
• Relevant experience negotiating intellectual property rights for use in advertising desired
• Experience and proven track record in working with leading FMCG companies preferred
• Must have ability to organise and prioritise work, prepare and present written and oral sales presentations, and communicate with clients, licensees, and management to determine needs and solve problems
• Must have strong managerial and mentoring skills
• Must be an extremely creative thinker
• Must be able to develop impactful promotional ideas
• Prior promotional licensing experience preferred
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers and other levels of personnel
• Must have the ability to organise and schedule work effectively
• Must be confident
• Must be able to take initiative
• Must have the ability to work well under time constraints
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks
• Must be able to travel when necessary
