Job Description:


We are currently recruiting a transactional attorney to serve as Director, Legal & Business Affairs, based at our EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam. This attorney will be responsible for providing legal & business affairs services and support to the division's EMEA business operations, including drafting and negotiating license agreements for all forms of Television licensing, Digital and New Media distribution.

Applicants must enjoy working in a demanding, team oriented atmosphere within a constantly evolving international industry.

  • Negotiate, draft and review television (content) license agreements, amendments and related documents for the licensing and exploitation of the CBSSI catalogue (CBS, Showtime and The CW content) across EMEA.
  • Advise and interface with contracts administration, sales administration, finance & accounting, marketing, and clearance teams on all matters.
  • Create summaries of major deals and carry out due diligence projects.
  • Work as a member of a busy and high-functioning team that supports the CBSSI business across EMEA in the European headquarters in Amsterdam.
  • Support Legal & Business Affairs senior attorneys with projects, contract/sales analysis, contract review, etc.


  • Qualified lawyer (Dutch qualified preferably) with a minimum of eight (8) years relevant entertainment legal and business affairs experience, or alternatively, transactional and commercial legal experience (e.g., M&A, secured financing, etc.). Knowledge of digital medua is considered a pre.
  • Proven track-record of creatively addressing the legal and business issues arising in a multinational organization.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and work under strict timelines and deadlines.
  • Strong people skills with the ability to build interdepartmental relationships at all levels.
  • CBSSI's clients across EMEA include all of the leading pay, free and digital broadcasters and platforms, such that experience in understanding these businesses will be a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently, have an effective problem-solving approach, be well-organized and have a strong work ethic.
  • Full time available, 5 days a week.
  • Must be fluent in English.
