ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, reporting to station program director:
•Generate on-air, online and on-site promotional ideas that market the station and grow ratings and revenue.
•Provide Promotion Manager with all information for on-air, online and on-site promotion paperwork and CBS legal approval, inclusive of adequate contest rules, contractual agreements and sponsorship agreements.
•Coordinate with Promotions Manager regarding on-air, online and on-site contests, prizes and giveaways.
•Schedule all talent appearances, Part Time promotion staff and live remotes with Event Operations Manager.
•Coordinate sales and station promotional activity outside the station, with Event Operations Manager.
•Coordinate with Event Operations Manager on special projects, event website development and marketing.
•Develop sales promotion ideas and plans for Sales Department. Includes sales call participation.
•Prepare recaps of all events including timeline, promos, on-air activity, communication to staff and listeners, event specifics, location, logistics, results and station ‘credit’ from listeners and advertisers.
•Responsible for all copy and traffic/production orders for station promotional inventory.
•Coordinates with station Digital Content Developer on station events, contests and content.
•Responsible for Social Media updates of events, contests and content.
•Work with the Program Director in managing marketing and promotion expense budgets.
•Maintains the station event and promotion calendar.
•Look for additional opportunities where station(s) may grow in the area of visibility, revenue and community service.
•Other marketing & promotions duties as assigned by Station Program Director.
Minimum of 3-5 years in similar role in the media industry. Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Adobe required as well as strong organizational skills. Must be able to multi-task, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines. Exceptional communication skills required as well as 4 year degree in marketing, advertising or a related field preferred.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required.
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.
