Job Description:

CNN is seeking a highly motivated, business analytics oriented, self-reliant Optimization Analyst. If you love making sense of data, are intrigued by defining the way interest, engagement and content are defined and measured, and want to lead real time decision making processes that engage the CNN audience - you should apply.

The Optimization Analyst will be a part of the Optimization & Testing team.
S/he will be responsible for defining and analyzing key metrics and KPIs for A/B/n & multivariate (MVT) tests and will be an expert in real-time tools.
S/he will collaborate with Audience Acquisition, Audience Intelligence, Business Development, Operations, Editorial, Research, and Product to for experiment execution and will ensure proper documentation and communication.
S/he will educate other teams on real-time analytics and behavioral tools and services including Chartbeat, Omniture, Outbrain VR, Sprinklr, Google Trends and BrightEdge, among other technologies and will be able to perform ad-hoc analyses and reports.

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional with a strong ability to self-learn, stay on top of the latest technologies and tools, deliver results, and communicate with both the editorial, technical and business sides of the organization.

What will you be doing?

Partner with Product and Developers to coordinate A/B/n & MVT test executions and ensure in proper documentation.
Help with documentation of Testing process and roadmap.
Determine key metrics for A/B/n & MVT test that relate to business, editorial, product, and design KPIs.
Perform analysis on results and document and communicate insights to key stakeholders.
Educate other teams on real time tools, opportunity evaluation processes and any relevant new products, features, or initiatives.
Develop real time tools and process expertise in order to provide timely and accurate support to the editorial and social teams and escalate feedback to stakeholders.
Help foster a culture of data informed decision making.
Be able to perform ad-hoc analysis or reports through multiple data sources.
Aid in strategy and implementation of on-site organic and promotional campaigns.

What do we need from you?

2-3 years minimum experience.
Strong knowledge of Internet technologies and a demonstrated capacity to learn.
Broad experience working with reporting and analytics tools (Such as Tableau, Omniture, Chartbeat, Visual Revenue, Google Analytics, BrightEdge).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including charts and pivot tables.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Strong familiarity with Digital Media metrics and tools is desired.
Familiar with Facebook Insights, Twitter analytics, Bitly, Hootsuite, Sprinklr or similar.
Familiar with SEO and Search Related metrics.
Familiar with Javascript , HTML, and CSS is a plus
Quick learning skills - ability to learn new technologies and business matters.
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
Basic understanding of the media business and its stakeholders, online advertising and publishing is a plus.
Embraces and encourages a culture based on team work, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.
Ability to actively drive problems to resolution.
Sound decision-making and critical thinking skills under tight deadlines.
