Job Description:

Disney Publishing Worldwide develops original, award-winning content (both Disney and non-Disney branded), including Disney books, magazines and comic books. Its products are printed in more than 85 languages across 103 countries, and it is considered the largest publisher of children’s books and magazines in the world.

Platform Engineers will partner with the technical, production and creative teams to build, maintain and integrate back-end systems supporting digital learning products.


•Develops and implements platform roadmap incorporating front-end product and user requirements.
•Develops, analyzes and maintains tools that support and automate processes for platform maintenance.
•Document existing and new infrastructure deployments using architecture diagrams and then ensures operating standards are developed, maintained, and adhered to.
•Implements and improves core infrastructural systems required for long-term scalability of selected platforms.
•Improves the coding standards used to ensure that features are delivered with the highest level of performance and maintainability.

Basic Qualifications

•Solid, engineering skills directly applicable to platform development preferably with kid’s media.
•Experience building CMS, commerce, identity, and other services extendable through APIs.
•Proficient in C/C++, Java, SQL, Javascript, Development Tools and Database Design.
•Deep knowledge of Unity as well as iOS, Android and/or Web+ platforms.
•Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, effective with all levels, internally and externally Ability to work collaboratively across the organization and across disciplines.
•Ability to work independently, make fast decisions and learn through iteration.
•Process-orientation, results driven and a restless passion for quality experiences.
•Contagious high energy level, extraordinary sense of urgency and a dedication to continuous improvement.

Required Education

•College degree preferred in Programming, Computer Science, Math or other related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.
