Overview:




The Manager’s primary function is to develop, recommend and implement the overall objectives and strategies of the group. Responsible for creating innovative integrated marketing initiatives to secure distribution, drive distributor and Viacom revenues, reinforce the value of the Viacom Media Network Brands and increase ratings.




Job Description/ Responsibilities:


  • Assist the VP/Director in the development of the marketing plan and with proposals to meet channel and partner goals.
  • Develop and execute account-specific marketing promotions centered on major distribution partners (ie. Comcast, Cablevision, DISH, DirecTV, Charter, etc.) that support distributor goals and deliver significant value for Viacom Media Networks.
  • Work across Sales, Partner Marketing and the entire Viacom Media Networks (VMN) brand portfolio to identify appropriate, mutually beneficial partnerships for VMN and distribution partners.
  • Act as brand liaison and brand expert for CMT, CMT Pure Country and TV Land brands to the sales team and affiliates.
  • Conceptualize, develop and create sales presentations, marketing proposals and promotional materials.
  • Oversee and coordinate generating awareness for distributor promotions/events including VOD, multiplatform, social media and grassroots.
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with channel contacts (marketing, programming, research, legal, press, creative) to create comprehensive, fully integrated opportunities that maximize CDM and channel priorities.
  • Manage brand message, image and presence in affiliate campaigns and materials.
  • Represent CDM POV and contribution in channel meetings.
  • Recommend initiatives based on understanding and identifying industry trends that will affect network distribution and marketing plans in the short and long-term.
  • Oversee and supervise the marketing Coordinator on day to day projects. Mentor and take a personal stake in their professional development.
  • Collaborate with peers to share best practices and recommend multi-brand campaigns and opportunities.
  • Manage budgets associated with projects.
Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor degree with 3-6 years marketing experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Candidate should be extremely detail-oriented, proactive and reliable with strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Must have an understanding of the television landscape
  • Ability to learn quickly. Must be flexible and able to adapt to the changing industry and organizational landscape.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interface across multiple levels (up to VP, SVP) and across groups.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
  • Capable of managing direct reports and working collaboratively within the department.
Desired Qualifications:


  • MBA and experience in brand management and multiplatform marketing a plus.
