The Investigative internship will provide participants the opportunity to work alongside the award-winning investigative team at WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC – owned television station in New York. WABC is the most-watched television station in the New York Television market and the United States and leads the market in station websites and social media engagement.

Responsibilities:
A day in the life…


Looking for an intern interested in all aspects of investigative journalism from researching, writing, shooting and editing longer form stories that explore public wrong-doing and social issues.

• Pursue story leads and follow up on exclusive tips to Eyewitness News
• Assist investigative reporters and producers in developing stories for broadcast and digital
• Participate in and at times conduct interviews for stories
• Assist in the shooting and edit of broadcast and digital investigations

Basic Qualifications:
What you bring to the role…


• Knowledge of how to log interviews, screen calls, and emails
• Some editorial experience
• Strong communication and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Studying journalism or broadcast television
• Judgement of what may or may not be an investigation
• Junior or Senior level standing

Additional Information:

• All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
• All students must be at least 18 years old
• At the time of application, must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program – OR – must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• All candidates must be available from May through August
• All candidates must be willing to work 16 hours/week
• All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• All students must provide a consistent, reliable work schedule during the session
