  Senior Accountant

Job Description:

Provide accounting support for various operational or corporate areas within the organization with a focus on Revenue Accounting which encompasses revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable, cash application, customer care and invoicing. The accountant will be responsible for their accounts and the related journal entries, account reconciliation, and analytics within the established deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide accounting and analytical support for assigned aspects of the business
• Work closely with other members of the team in support of the month end accounting close process including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, analytics and reporting
• Prepare revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable analytics to ensure accuracy of billing system and compliance to accounting policy at summary and detail level
• Communicate on a regular basis with peers, finance team, business liaisons and third party vendors to ensure that the accounting is compliant with company standards and GAAP
• Streamline and improve current processes to achieve efficiency and best practices
• Review contracts and new internal initiatives with various departments within the company to determine appropriate operational and accounting treatment in compliance with Company standards
• Proactively investigates/audits revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable for completeness and accuracy on a monthly basis
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required
• 2-3 years accounting experience, prior public accounting experience a plus

Requirements and General Skills:

• Strong understanding of GAAP, particularly revenue recognition, and ability to execute operationally
• Strong analytical skills and reconcilation experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly detailed oriented and organized in work
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Willingness to take initiative and follow through on projects
• Good public speaking and presentation skills
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:

• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Must have some auditing exposure and demonstrated ability to think critically and problem solve
• Must have some exposure to revenue, deferred revenue, accounts receivable and cash accounting
• Experience working with and analyzing large amounts of data in Excel pivot tables. SQL and Access experience a plus
• Experience with enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, Blackline, etc.
