Job Title: Front of House (FOH)/Business Manager
Reports To: Company Manager
Type of Position: Exempt/Salary Compensation: $7,000-$9,000 flat rate
Employee Classification: Seasonal, 10/01/2019-01/01/2020 (Dates vary by location)

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be working with Rail Events Productions (REP) during the fall and winter of 2019 to present THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. Candidates may apply for the position at any of the following locations: Chicago, IL; Fillmore, CA; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Miami, FL; New Orleans, La; Oklahoma City, OK; Perris, CA; and Whippany, NJ. All FOH/Business Managers are required to attend a short management training seminar, dates TBD, hosted in Durango, CO. They will be responsible primarily for managing all aspects of business, customer service, ticketing, food service, and communication with both train operations and other third-party contractors. They will also work closely with the Production Manager to manage the cast, crew, and all production elements. They will work under the guidance of the Director of Production and REP Production Manager as well as the rest of the REP staff. They will be responsible for being involved in all the pre-production work leading up to the opening of the event as well as the load out of the event. They will also be required to become knowledgeable with the Rail Events Productions policies and procedures as well as the REP owned equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with the Company Manager to ensure all policies and procedures, established by REP management, are in place
• Work with the Company Manger to oversee the onboarding and payroll of all cast and crew members
• Work with the Production Manager during preproduction, manage day to day operations during the event, and participate in postproduction load out
• Work with Production Manager to lead onsite staff during the event operation as well as load in and load out
• Oversee box office staff and become familiar with the ticketing system
• Serves as the customer service manager when the need arises
• Work with food service employees and see that the quality and schedule are maintained
• Become familiar with railroad safety rules and help oversee the event staff’s adherence to safety
• Serve as a right hand to the Production Manager for any production related need that arises
• Work closely with the Assistant FOH & Business Manager to perform all duties with consistency and efficiency
• Works with the entire event team to maintain a positive, enjoyable, and rewarding environment for all staff and passengers

As the FOH & Business Manager you will work with the Associate Production Manager and the Production Stage Manager with communication between any of the following:

• Host Venue Staff
• Mechanical and Train Operations Staff
• On board Production Team
• Other REP Front of House & Business Managers at other sites
• Catering Teams
• Etix Customer Support
• Front of House/ Will Call staff
• Retail Sales Manager
• Any passenger who wishes to speak with a manager

Education, Skill & Work Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience with special events and managing events
• Experience and ability problem solving and leading a team in a live show setting
• Ability to work alongside and serve as a leader for the event staff
• Possess a well-spoken manner in personal communications
• Self-motivation and attention to details
• Be physically capable of lifting heavy objects
• Must be willing to travel within the United States
• Must be 18 or over
