ACTIVE is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications with a proven track record of strategizing, implementing and executing world-class internal and external communications programs.
The Director of Corporate Communications will lead global communications for 2,500+ employees in support of ACTIVE’s business objectives, core values and culture. In addition, this role will develop and implement a strategic public relations plan designed to build a favorable public image, as well as positive public and media relationships.
The Director of Corporate Communications will partner with ACTIVE’s senior executives to:
Unify the company under a single vision of being a profitable, high-performance organization
Engage and motivate employees to work hard, be accountable and win
Build trust in our leadership team and company vision
Create favorable public relations opportunities for ACTIVE and its business groups
Develop strategic public relations plans in line with ACTIVE business objectives, department goals and company vision

Utilize various communication channels to broaden awareness and understanding of ACTIVE’s business objectives, core values and culture
Partner with internal market and department functions to prepare creative, employee-focused communications that support employee morale, help attract and retain of top talent and build a “Best Place to Work” environment
Coordinate events and campaigns that support employee morale and retention, foster engagement, and increase visibility of Senior Leadership, including town hall and staff meetings, video broadcasts and feature articles/blog posts
Drive content management of corporate intranet to ensure consistent brand voice
Build and nurture relationships with vendors, partners, news media, government and civic leaders to enhance awareness of ACTIVE, company news, activities, products and services
Work proactively to understand the needs of Sales and Marketing teams to encapsulate company vision and value proposition in all communications
Develop press releases and positively represent ACTIVE to all external audiences
Who you are:
You are competent, creative, trustworthy, engaging, organized and passionate about communications in all of its many forms
You are a skilled writer, whether it’s talking points, press releases, executive communications or company newsletters
That said, you know that words are just one way to express stories and your campaign ideas go broader, including videos, events and graphic storytelling
You’re comfortable working independently, but are a team player and want what’s best for the company
You have a keen political awareness and quickly grasp the dynamics involved in interacting with people across the org chart
You excel in fast-paced work environments and are able to juggle multiple deadlines
Results and winning matter to you: you’re all about beating the highest score
8-10 years of experience in a corporate communications or public relations function
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field
Experience with content management systems, SharePoint experience preferred
Strong writing, interpersonal, communications skills
Ability to set priorities and be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment
