The Daily Press Media Group is seeking a proven sales manager who who can grow and lead a sales team. This manager will be overseeing a small team of major account representatives and will also have their own book of business of top accounts.
The major account manager will recommend and achieve print, interactive, mobile, broadcast and event performance standards for the Major Accounts sales teams. Consistently attain concrete, timely and measurable results that support overall company objectives and are consistent with Tribune values, policies and procedures.
" Personally maintain & grow revenue from a list of 10 of the Top Major accounts
" Work closely with the Director in determining contract strategy and oversee all negotiations for Major accounts annual committments.
" Participate in the planning process to develop and implement acceptable strategies, operational plans, policies, projections and budgets for print, interactive, mobile and events.
" Develop creative, comprehensive advertising packages using a multi-media approach.
" Identify and monitor revenue variances for print and interactive products. Review performance and objectives. Ensure corrective action to meet financial goals.
" Work effectively with team members and colleagues within the group and across traditional work units particularly online and commercial print. Proactively share print, interactive, mobile and event knowledge and resources.
" Monitor day to day activities of direct reports.
" Enhance community involvement through event participation.
" Maintain frequent contact with advertisers.
" Understand and satisfy the changing needs of both external and internal customers with customized campaigns.
" Articulate the vision and direction necessary for the success of the organization; assemble and organize the resources necessary to execute that vision, for print, interactive, mobile and event revenue growth.
" Foster a climate that motivates direct reports and encourages professional growth, innovation and creative thinking.
" Demonstrate a broad understanding of all aspects of business. Effectively develop short and long-term strategies and plans.
" Demonstrate ethical business practices.
" Support Daily Press Media Group initiatives.
" Responsible for finding, interviewing and evaluating new team members and facilitating new and ongoing sales training, performance appraisals and reviews.
" Empower team members; coordinate emergency back-up measures with other managers/teams when teams cannot cover.
Communicate boundaries, legalities and company information to team members
" College degree in Marketing or Communications or equivalent related experience in the publishing industry, other media or advertising agencies
" Requires 1-3 years sales management experience
" Requires 5+ years Retail & Major Accounts Advertising sales experience
" Requires strong communication skills to be able to clearly and effectively share relevant information through listening, one-on-one, group and written communication skills
" Requires strong organizational and time management skills
