Job Description:

DreamWorks Animation Television is currently a Music Production Supervisor to be a part of a fast growing and busy TV Music Department. Duties will include breaking down scripts, coordinating recording sessions, attending spotting sessions, maintaining episode music budgets, pulling creative music ideas for shows and marketing, vocal producing talent in the booth and conceptual music editorial. This individual will be interfacing with many different individuals at all levels of the company, from production assistants to Head of the Studio, as well as a broad range of individuals outside the company. This will require an outgoing, confident personality, coupled with good judgment, resourcefulness and discretion.

We are looking for self-starters who enjoy a challenge. They must have strong organizational skills, focus, follow-through, and excellent attention to detail. Candidates must be open, cooperative team players with proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Protools. A strong knowledge music supervision, pre-production music and licensing is a must, and of course, a passion for music.


• Soundtracks
• Work with Director of Music to oversee creative and administrative needs for all commercial releases
• Work with vocal contractors and internal Talent Relations team to process all SAG paperwork correctly
• Music Editorial
• Oversee all conceptual music editorial needs for studio
• Cut and shape temp music for test animatics, development projects and marketing as needed
• Vocal Records
• Attend sessions and coordinate with various music producers. Vocal produce talent as needed
• Negotiate and book recording studios for music only records and or BTS sessions of music
• Creatively find and hire session singers as needed. Manage all SAG paperwork and coordinate with Talent Relations for payments
• Coordinate with talent to ensure music and lyrics are delivered with enough time to rehearse and ensure they are comfortable with the range and key
• Ensure music stem assets are correct and delivered to the recording engineer and stage
• Streamline stem deliverables from the stage back to DreamWorks and our comps
• Music Supervision/Coordination
• Represent music department at production meetings, spotting sessions, and score previews
• Read all scripts and review boards on assigned shows to flag key musical scenes
• Pull creative song ideas for shows and marketing
• Maintain and develop relationships with cost effective vendors
• Help track production related expenses
• Coordinate licensing with music clearance
• Maintain all music tracking documents for domestic and international needs


• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to understand the roles of many different departments in relation to music
• Strong knowledge of the production and post-production process
• Strong knowledge of the recording process and vocabulary
• Working knowledge of ProTools and ability to music edit creatively
• Adaptability and the ability to multi-task and prioritize
