Job Description:

Burbank Television Enterprises LLC seeks a Network Publicist for the WWTVM Prog. Non-Scripted Mktg department. The Network Publicist spearheads publicity efforts for series produced and/or distributed by Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, Shed Media, or Warner Bros. International Television Production teaming to create, and then execute, consumer-facing and/or industry-facing publicity campaigns, initiatives, and/or events for assigned programs. The position is personally responsible for handling a number of series as assigned.

The Daily

• Media relations: Work closely with network publicity counterparts and Studio publicity team to devise and execute consumer publicity campaigns for assigned series. Pitch stories to all external media outlets, including traditional print reporters and critics, electronic media and mainstream online outlets, as well as bloggers. Understand media desires and exercise judgment in deciding which opportunities to pursue, ensuring that Studio objectives are met and communicated.
• Serve as key point person for assigned series, representing the series to external and internal constituencies and serving as publicity brand manager/one-stop resource for all information related to series.
• Establish close working relationships and positive rapport with talent and personnel associated with assigned series – including executive producers, key production staff/crew and on-camera performers, and programming executives.
• Demonstrate excellent judgment in selecting compelling video clips, photos and other promotional/publicity materials that fulfill needs of media and best represent the show to viewers and other targeted audiences including social media.
• Partner with internal team to develop new campaigns, technology solutions, original ideas and marketing/publicity initiatives. Socialize and inspire others to develop original concepts and support new ideas.
• Write and edit press releases and other communications as assigned.

The Essentials

• College degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum 3 years entertainment publicity experience required.
• Previous experience in television required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of entertainment industry required.
• Must have strong understanding of social media and demonstrate established consumer publication contacts and knowledge.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet required.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
• Must be well organized.
• Must have the ability to work additional hours as needed on short notice.
• Must possess exemplary organizational skills.
• Must possess excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to maintain a positive disposition in a fast-paced environment and during demanding times.
• Must be able to review and comprehend detailed documents.
• Must be detail-oriented.
• Must have good judgment.
• Must be able and willing to take initiative and to problem solve as appropriate within the scope of responsibilities of this position.
• Demonstrated proficiency in modern social and digital marketing and publicity platforms.
• A passion for unscripted programming and brands, of all production levels and formats.
