Job Description:

Our mission is to help people buy the best stuff and get the most out of the stuff they already own. We do this by providing our audience with enjoyable and genuinely useful content, all informed by our strong ethical values.

This position requires editorial management experience and a deep understanding of how consumers research and purchase tech products. You’ll head a small team of writers focused on product reviews and consumer education content. You’ll build relationships with key brands in order to stay informed on industry developments. You’ll also recruit and manage freelance talent to further expand our coverage.

While this is a leadership position, we expect that everyone on the editorial team is willing and eager to create content regularly.

The Managing Editor reports to the Executive Editor for Core Content and works remotely or in our editorial office in Cambridge, MA. Occasional travel is required.


• Lead the editorial team responsible for content in our tech verticals.
• Create the editorial vision and strategy for the tech verticals using smart, data-driven decisions.
• Consistently update our existing product roundups with new products and SEO improvements.
• Mentor and develop the talents of your writers.
• Recruit and lead a small team of freelancers.
• Write and publish your own content.
• Assist the editorial team as a whole in writing assignments and generating great story ideas.


• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years managing an editorial content team.
• Competitive drive to be a leading editorial voice in tech.
• Deep understanding of the consumer search trends and shopping habits within the personal tech space.
• A commitment to upholding high ethical standards.
• Knowledge of advanced SEO tactics within the context of an editorial organization.
• Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics experience is a plus.
