Marquee Sports Network is the future exclusive television home of the Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). It will be the Chicago-region’s exclusive network for fans to view live Cubs games beginning with the 2020 Major League Baseball season and will also feature extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content and other local sports programming. Marquee Sports Network brings together one of the most iconic sports franchises in the country with one of the largest television broadcasting companies to deliver unprecedented Cubs coverage for fans.

Marquee Sports Network seeks a Director of Engineering to coordinate or perform maintenance of computer and broadcast equipment of the television broadcasting station by performing the following duties:

• Plan, manage, train, and coordinate technician's activities
• Assist and advise in planning of future equipment installations, requirements, and budgetary recommendations
• Provides engineering support for all live remotes and press conferences
• Function as liaison with Master Control Facility from time to time
• Plays key role in the management of all signal flow throughout the plant, studio operation, and remotes
• Troubleshoots on-air issues from multiple sources, such as live remotes and studio shows
• Supervise maintenance of computer software, hardware, and local area network applications on systems throughout the station
• Establish the procedures ensuring all IT equipment is operational and secure
• Keep software versions up to date. Insures software license compliance. Follows all corporate directives for IT security
• Supervise preventive maintenance and/or troubleshooting on almost any electronic device or support electronics whether in-house or installed at transmitter; including but not limited to: cameras, video equipment and/or audio switching equipment, processing and monitoring equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, satellite receivers, and computing equipment
• Supervise and/or perform transmitter maintenance of all transmitters
• Respond to trouble calls with broadcast or computer equipment (sometimes after regular hours and weekends)
• Will participate in an on call rotation for live event and studio coverage
• Other duties as assigned by VP, Technical Operations


• A minimum of 10 years experience working in a broadcast television environment
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and occasional holidays
• A great team-oriented attitude and a dedication to quality
• Strong leadership skills and exceptional communication skills are essential
• Ability to produce CAD drawings
• A strong IT background
• Working knowledge of IP based technologies
• A college degree, SBE certification, and A+ certification are highly desired
