Job Description:

The Sr. Manager, Special Events is responsible for the oversight and execution of Special Events, including all aspects of event management, and their respective marketing and promotions initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring safe execution of events, maximizing attendance, managing business relationships and event budgets. The Sr. Manager, Special Events ensures adequate ticket sales to meet annual budgets, oversees daily operations, and drives growth for Special Events.

Essential Functions
Event Management


• Oversee event management and delegation of duties for each event.
• Review, edit and execute all event contracts and riders and ensure appropriate legal review.
• Support the Director in the execution of the Special Events business strategy
• Manage, prioritize and delegate competing events and deadlines.
• Provide regular status reports to Director.

Budgets

• Support the Director with the execution of annual and event budgets ensuring the events stay within approved budgets.
• Provide analysis and recommendations for tours, self-produced events, partnerships, sponsorships and new revenue streams.
• Ensure budget gross sheets are updated and current as required

Internal & External Relations

• Act as chief liaison for all departments, vendors, and escalated customer issues.
• Select, negotiate and manage vendor relationships locally and nationally.
• Ensure payment for vendors, following KSBJ’s accounting processes.

Leadership

• Supervise and develop direct reports, including setting performance goals and reviews.
• Ensure the team is following industry standard safety protocol.

Event Marketing & Promotions

• Partner with KSBJ Marketing Department and SETS Team to develop sales plans designed to increase attendance at events.
• Oversee the effectiveness of all marketing campaigns and expenses executed by the marketing team, including on-air promotional campaigns, live DJ mentions, marketing plans, advertising strategy, media buying, outbound sales efforts, and interactive digital marketing plans

Policies & Procedures

• Understand, document and execute formal operational procedures for ticketing and events as applicable

Non-Essential Functions

Qualifications
Education:


Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years concert, event, and/or ticketing management experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Understanding of concert, production, staging, and ticketing terminology
• Self-motivated
• Strong professional leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid negotiation skills
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills
• Creative thinker, open to new ideas
• Ability to successfully manage budget
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department.
• Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.
