12News, the ABC/NBC affiliate in Beaumont, Texas, is looking for a competitive News Producer to join our team of award-winning journalists.
First and foremost, the ideal candidate will have strong, creative writing skills.
The perfect person for this job must also be dedicated to creating shows that engage and inform the viewer.
If there are opportunities to give viewers a voice in our coverage do it.
Being an "idea person" is also a major plus.
A strong candidate will be able to actively contribute to content discussions during our daily news meetings.
To do that they'll have to have a pulse on what people are talking about in our community.
12News has a newsroom built around being TRUTH SEEKERS. We are looking for REAL, GROUNDBREAKING journalists.

Create unique newscasts and segments evoking emotion and utilizing innovative showcasing.
Write and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platforms.
Skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content.
Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories.
Research for facts and credibility.
Use creative production techniques such as including graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, Skype interviews, Tagboard etc.) to enhance stories.
Perform other tasks as required by the 12News Leadership Team.

Experience: 1 Year(s)
Some news producing experience preferred. If you don't have the experience, convince us why you'd be the ideal candidate.
College degree in journalism or related field
Strong, creative writing skills
ENSP, Axis graphics, Vertigo experience preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in using social media for news-gathering
Must be organized and calm enough to handle breaking news situations and changing events
Must not shy away from learning about new software that help make shows more engaging
Provides editorial guidance to reporters and oversees writers
Must be willing to work any shift
