Job Description:

NBC Owned Stations is looking for a Brand Director to help build awareness and market LX, a new multi-platform news product and soon to be over-the-air network.

You will help grow the mission and content priorities for our team. You will develop a brand and campaign designed to draw an untapped audience. Are you ready to roll up your sleeves, take risks and go beyond the boundaries of conventional marketing?

You will:

• Be the ambassador of a new brand for delivering the news
• Strategize effective ways to deliver promotional content on multiple platforms using emerging technology
• Lead the conversation about messaging, promotion and external campaigns
• Manage a team of marketing producers
• Encourage risk taking and celebrate failures as paths to successful innovation
• Have a keen sense of judgment, able to identify trends and marketing opportunities


• At least 3 years of professional experience in news promotion, digital or content marketing fields

• Experience developing content for digital and/or over the top (OTT) platforms

• Understanding and track record of acquiring and retaining audiences

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overnights

• Must be willing to travel and work extended shifts and/or on weekends with short notice

• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

• Must be 18 years or older

• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program

• Strong understanding of social media and digital video consumption and audiences

• Eager to explore new ways of delivering content to our audience where they are and doing so in the most efficient way

• Proven track record of producing successful brands and marketing campaigns

• Experience working with a creative agency

• Understanding and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, including current knowledge of laws of libel, slander and applicable FCC rules and regulations

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems, prioritize decisions, and successfully manage multiple projects in a high-pressure environment

• Deep understanding of finding value in news content and effective ways to market it

• Experience in executing news strategy and promotion

• Good collaborative and interpersonal skills to communicate at all levels

• Believes that teams are smarter and more dynamic together
