KTLA is looking for a Sports Anchor.


Performs as a presenter of sports information on news and other station programs and covers sports/news stories when not anchoring. Writes and/or proofreads stories on broadcasts. Contributes ideas for possible stories. Reads newspapers, magazines and wire copy, Internet, etc. to keep current on sporting/news events. Works with producers, reporters and associate producers on news broadcasts. Monitors sports/newsfeeds when necessary. Answers viewer phone calls and mail. Performs public speaking engagements and makes other appearances as requested by station management. Develops community contacts.


College degree or equivalent related experience preferred. Candidate may: (A) anchored regularly scheduled news broadcasts on a commercial public television station or radio station or (B) worked as a reporter for a broadcast or print news organization. Prefer that an Individual have a minimum of three years experience in news, either in broadcast or print. Effective broadcast communicator; strong writer, good organizational skills, must be able to accept constructive direction and criticism designed to improve individualís performance. Can perform duties and make decisions under extreme pressure. Individual will be required to cover sports/news stories in the field. Must be capable of interacting positively and productively with other employees.
